At Mount Kenya Hiking, our passion is connecting adventurers with the raw, untamed beauty of Africa’s second-highest peak. Based in Kenya and led by local experts, we specialize in guided Mount Kenya treks, summit climbs, and immersive safari experiences for travelers of all skill levels.
Our guides are Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) certified, deeply familiar with every trail, weather pattern, and wildlife corridor on the mountain. We don’t just lead hikes — we craft once-in-a-lifetime journeys that combine physical achievement with genuine cultural connection.
From the dense rainforests of the Naromoru Gate to the glacier-carved valleys near Point Lenana at 4,985m, every expedition we lead is designed to be safe, sustainable, and unforgettable.
Our Mount Kenya Hiking Routes
Mount Kenya offers three main trekking routes, each with a distinct character and level of difficulty. We guide fully supported expeditions on all three:
Naromoru Route
The fastest and most popular route to Point Lenana (4,985m). This western approach passes through rainforest, bamboo zones, and the iconic Vertical Bog before reaching Mackinder’s Camp at 4,200m. Best completed in 4–5 days. Ideal for hikers with limited time.
Sirimon Route
The driest and most gradual ascent on Mount Kenya, making it the preferred choice for first-time summit hikers. The Sirimon approach offers stunning open moorland scenery and the best conditions for acclimatization. Recommended duration: 5 days.
Chogoria Route
The most scenic route on the mountain, traversing the eastern side past the spectacular Lake Michaelson and the dramatic Gorges Valley. Often combined with the Sirimon descent for a full mountain traverse. Recommended duration: 6 days.
All routes include KWS-certified guides, experienced porters, accommodation, all meals, and round-trip transport from Nairobi.
